On a March 1991 trip through East Germany, six month after the reunification with West Germany and still having a Soviet military presence, Poland struggling with unfamiliar freedom and Hungary rapidly advancing toward democracy, hopeful signs, with lit up bridges over the Danube in Budapest, new clothes being displayed in show windows and children playing with their new toys are everywhere despite problems with heavy pollution, homelessness and confusion of what free enterprise is all about, I hope some of this reflects in my pictures.
